This listing is one rebuilt W220 S55 AMG gauge cluster for your 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, or 2006 Mercedes-Benz vehicle. It will fit S430, S500, S600, S55 models. This cluster is for a sedan and will not fit a coupe. The replacement instrument cluster will be programmed to 0 miles. Once you install and code or program the cluster then the cluster will inherit the chassis mileage that is stored on your ECU.

The original gauge cluster found in S55, CL55, CL500, CL600 coupe models has a different plastic bezel than the sedan. The plastic bezel is more curved, but the rest of the instrument cluster is identical.

Gauge clusters for AMG models have “AMG” printed on the overlay inside of the tachometer. This cluster is an AMG gauge cluster and has that logo on the overlay. These clusters are very rare to find. The part number is A2205408447

Programming

We ship this Mercedes instrument cluster with blank mileage (0mi). Once you install the cluster and adapt it, the cluster will download your vehicle mileage from the EZS/EIS/ECU module.

(Build date after 04/2001) 2002 – 2006 W220 vehicles had mileage stored in multiple locations and all locations must match. If you install a used cluster that already has mileage programmed into it your odometer will show dashes (——-) and it will flash.  If you install our fresh cluster and your odometer shows dashes then you need to fix the issue with the vehicle. There is a mileage mismatch somewhere and replacing the cluster will not solve the issue.

This will appear if a cluster is installed without programming.  Has nothing to do with the “screen”.  It can also indicate a bad module somewhere in the car.

The Mercedes instrument cluster will need to be adapted to your vehicle once installed by using MB Star Diagnostics. The data from the old cluster needs to be copied into this cluster (an automatic process). If the old cluster is dead, the new cluster must be programmed manually. A dealer or Mercedes independent shop will have the tools and knowledge to do this. Once paired and adapted the cluster will work in your vehicle.  Mileage for 2002 – 2006 vehicles is more complicated. No one can change mileage with MB Star on a refurbished cluster which is why we must set it to 0 miles.

Offline DAS (Drive Authorization System) with developer mode enabled is typically used. You can either read the old gauge cluster with Star SDS and then transfer the old gauge cluster information to the new gauge cluster or you can select all of the vehicle options and settings manually if the old cluster does not work anymore or you don’t have it.
