This is one brand new bulb used to replace the passenger airbag-off indicator light in 1999-2003 Ford and Mazda passenger side airbag switches. Replacing this light bulb will resolve airbag code 27 – which is caused by a burnt out light bulb.
This 1998-2003 Ford F150, F250, F350, Ranger, Mazda B2300, B2500, B3000 passenger airbag switch light bulb is not a plug-and-play item. The original bulb does not twist out – you will need to desolder the old bulb and solder the new bulb in place. But you can reuse the OEM yellow bulb cap.
We began offering the individual bulb after researching this problem for several customers and determining this as the most cost-effective solution. Because the airbag switch is considered “non-repairable” and a sealed unit since the bulb is not available to purchase separately from dealerships or parts stores, dealerships will try and sell you a complete airbag switch assembly. However, with our simple solution, you can solve your airbag light issues within a few minutes of work!
