This service covers the repair of your 2004-2005 Lexus LS430 engine control unit (ECU) or engine control module (ECM). 2006 year ECU’s did not have issues so it’s unlikely you will need repair unless someone installed an older ECU.

If you have a 2005 with this VIN number or later you will not need any type of software update. It already has the newest ECU calibration:  JTHBN36F*5005700. To be clear, 2005 ECU’s after this VIN still need the repair service completed.

We repair, replace, and resolve on board component problems with this board. We take this service a step farther and include complimentary Toyota ECU software programming. We update your ECU to the newest software calibration. The recalibration along with our component repairs ensure your Lexus LS430 will shift and downshift smoothly again.  Even if you DO NOT have rough shifting problems it is still wise to get the new software calibration installed on your ECU and preventatively complete these repairs. 

This service will not resolve check engine error codes. You would need to determine what the codes are and then resolve those codes.  Sensor or solenoids inside the transmission will trigger engine codes if they fail. This service is for 2004 and some 2005 LS430’s that don’t have any check engine lights, but exhibit rough low speed shifting and rough downshifts, usually from 3 to 2 and 2 to 1st gear, and also a harsh shift from P to D.  

If you are installing a used ECU into your LS430 we can also program your new VIN number into the used ECU. You will have a permanent P0630 if this is not done.
